Pilgrim offers total Gynecological care at our facility. This care
is rendered by our Gynecological Physician.

At Pilgrim, we specialize in minor gynecological surgery. We are capable of performing any minor surgical procedure which does not require an overnight stay in a hospital.

One of our specialties at Pilgrim is the termination of pregnancy. Pregnancy termination is performed from conception through 20 weeks. All surgeries are performed within one day. Non-surgical procedures are available to all individuals who are fewer than 7 weeks from their last menstrual period.

All prices at Pilgrim include total service with no hidden charges. You will not be expected to pay more than the price which is quoted to you. The only additional charge would be for an optional post-operative visit which will be $40.

Pilgrim accepts Medicaid and several types of insurance. Please call for more information.

Abortion procedures at Pilgrim are separated into five categories as follows:

Non-Surgical Abortion:
Conception to 6 weeks 4 days. We use RU486, the Abortion Pill. The patient should understand that at this early stage of pregnancy one cannot be totally sure that the pregnancy is in the uterus and not in the fallopian tube. This includes all blood work, ultrasound and necessary medications. A mandatory post-operative visit is necessary to ensure success. At your post-operative visit, birth control will be instituted and samples will be provided at no additional cost to you.

Surgical Completion of Unsuccessful Non-Surgical Abortions may be necessary for an additional fee.

D&C:
Conception to 14 weeks. This procedure is a minor surgical procedure in which the pregnancy is removed using the suction curettage method. This includes all blood work, ultrasound, anesthesia, surgery, and all necessary medications. Most patients seen at Pilgrim are referred from private physicians who prefer to have their patients taken care of by us. For this reason we do not recommend a mandatory post-operative visit. However, if you do not have a private physician, Pilgrim offers this service (a post-operative visit) for a fee of $40. This visit includes initiation of birth control and samples, and any basic medication that may be needed by the patient.

D&E:
A D&E procedure is a highly specialized procedure, in which a gynecologist, with special training, removes a pregnancy using special instruments and vacuum curettage.

D&E I: (14.1 weeks to 15 weeks)
D&E II: (15.1 weeks to 16 weeks)

Laminaria:
A Laminaria is a highly specialized procedure, in which a gynecologist, with special training, removes a pregnancy using special instruments and vacuum curettage. It is different than a D&E in that special medication, called a Laminaria, must be used to prevent any problems during surgery.

Laminaria I: (16.1 weeks to 17 weeks)
Laminaria II: (17.1 weeks to 18 weeks)
Laminaria III: (18.1 weeks to 19 weeks)
Laminaria IV: (19.1 weeks to 20 weeks)
